Vote For Policies Update 4th March 2015

The Vote For Policies site has now been up and running in its "updated for General Election 2015" state since 19th February, that's just under 2 weeks, and an amazing number, over 76,200, have completed the survey in this time.

The national results so far are as follows:

It can be clearly seen that the UK Labour Party and the Green Party of England and Wales are neck and neck with the UK Liberal Democrats in third place. If you combine both the Green Party of England and Wales with the Scottish Green Party (which creates the UK national Green figure to equate with the main three parties) the Green Party sneeks ahead by about 2%.
These are fascinating times and I will definitely be keeping an eye on these results over the coming weeks.

Whilst this site is definitely not indicative of what the election result will be, it certainly shows that the make up of the United Kingdom Parliament would be vastly different if folk actually voted for what party actually stood for what they believed in.

For me it definitely shows that the First Past The Post system is undemocratic and that it is due for a massive overhaul. If it doesn't get it the democratic deficit that the United Kingdom suffers from will only get bigger and that will only lead to further voter apathy and disenfranchisement.
